The Siouxland Surgery Center Staff will call you a few days prior to your surgery to assess your specific needs and concerns, give you instructions and answer your questions. Please be prepared to tell the staff person all the medications you are currently taking including vitamins and herbal medications. If you can't be reached by phone, please be sure to call the center at (Local 232-3332 and long distance 877-232-3332) no later than 3 PM on the day prior to your surgery.

It is important that your stomach be empty for surgery. It is absolutely necessary that you fast after midnight the night before surgery. Remove nail polish and do not wear heavy make-up. If you develop a cold, fever, rash, cough, or sore throat before your scheduled surgery, please contact your physician. Take a shower or bath and wash your hair either the night before or the morning of surgery. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, please bring a storage case for their safekeeping.

Please do not bring valuables, jewelry or large amounts of money with you. Wear comfortable clothing.
